Tropical Green Tea
Sencha green tea is the most common tea found in Japan. With the addition of pineapple, papaya and citrus zest along with other flavours, Sloane Tea creates a sweeter, fruitier version of this popular tea with this Tropical Green version.

Japan is recognized for the production and consumption of green teas, with matcha and sencha being the best known. Tea ceremonies revolve around the preparation and serving of these teas. These two teas differ in that sencha is steeped and then strained whereas matcha is ground and whipped into the water.
Enjoying Tropical Green
Sloane Tea Tropical Green tea adds a sweet and fruity flavour to the sencha leaf. They combine dried fruits – pineapple, papaya and citrus peel, as well as calendula petals and safflowers to the tea. The additions can be seen in the dried leaves, and the scent of the fruit is evident as you open the tin and scoop out your tea. Note the full leaf and colours from the large pieces of fruit and petals.
Green tea is brewed at a lower temperature of 80C than that for black and oolong teas. Steep for 3 minutes (I lengthen this a bit – up to 4 minutes – to bring out a bit more of the fruit flavouring). And if you are making iced tea use a bit more than the 2 grams of leaves per cup. For stronger flavour, you can try adding an extra half teaspoon full to the one that makes up the 2 grams.
